TYPEInspirationTM is a provider of seminars, workshops and consulting to groups and individuals using
the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® assessment tool and several other
tools that complement the MBTI® instrument.
Discovering your Psychological Type can
be a positive and affirming experience to help you - at work, home or play - to better understand yourself and others, and in the process, feel more comfortable celebrating the differences that make us
all unique while also working toward a more effective use of one's nonprimary Type functions.
Developing your TypeMentalityTM can
be helpful in enhancing communication, team building, career development, conflict management and the interactions of everyday
life.
For a more powerful experience, we may supplement Psychological Type with the use of the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict
Mode InstrumentTM, the Klein Group Instrument®, the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator®, or the Strong
Interest Inventory®.
My
Type
My Psychological Type Preferences – the initial “launching pad’
for how I tend to gather information and come to conclusions – is INFJ – Introverted (my energy source primarily
comes from internal reflection), iNtuitive (favoring a
theoretical, conceptual “big picture” way of looking at things and gathering data), Feeling (evaluation-oriented
decision making), Judging (a preference for structure versus open-endedness). Almost unconsciously and
to a lesser extent I also tap into my non-primary functions of Sensing (rooted in practical realities, with a preference for
linear and sequential method of listening, reading and gathering information) and Thinking (analytical
oriented decision making) functions as a natural balance.
But
the NF coupling of introverted iNtuition and extraverted
Feeling is a powerful influence to a lifestyle that can be: perceptive,
insightful, and inspiring; holding a long term perspective; evaluating decisions with respect to their societal and organizational
“people” consequences; bending and thriving in the wind of complexity instead of breaking;
and sometimes coming across as mystical and immersed in a language of metaphors that can create misunderstanding by others.
What's
Your Type?
A helpful understanding of Type requires more than a brief explanation
that resembles a party game (like the quick take above!). It needs to includes how you can use Type to
better your daily living, communicate more effectively, cope with daily stressors, improve relationships, and more.
Take the MBTI® assessment, attend a workshop …
read a book about Psychological Type. Two of my favorite books are: Type Talk at Work by Otto Kroeger, Janet Theusen and Hile Rutledge;
and What Type Am I? by Renee Baron.
